The Client
Created in April 2005, Ploughshare Innovations manages technology transfer on behalf of Dstl, the Ministry of Defence's Defence Science & Technology Laboratory. Based at the Tetricus Science Park near Salisbury, PIL has access to over 150 patented technologies and is a rich source of commercially attractive IP.
The Challenge
With such a broad and deep portfolio of intellectual assets available, Ploughshare sought assistance to assess, review and prioritise which Assetts to develop, as well as requiring additional bandwidth and commercialisation skills to complement their team.
The Outcome:
Working with the team coaching members new to IP rapid progress was made. The success of Ploughshare’s business model in combination with ClearViewIP mentoring contributed to obtaining further PSRE funding. Ongoing work will now focus on Invention Capture and Technology Transfer at AWE (Atomic Weapons Establishment) where many valuable technologies are expected to be capable of development for civilian use.
