ClearViewIP is excited to share news of the latest spin-out company from the University of Liverpool, LiftUpp Ltd. LiftUpp is a software platform providing a revolutionary new way to measure professional competency in education and business, and this week it was announced that the company has been able to secure £425k in investment. The University of Liverpool is heavily devoted to research and is a member both of the Russell Group, and of the N8 Research Partnership – a collaboration of the eight most research intensive universities in Northern England. Since 2013, ClearViewIP has been working with the University as a commercial partner, helping to drive its commercialization efforts.
Peter Beynon of ClearViewIP was closely involved in the formation and funding of LiftUpp Ltd, helping to shape the business proposition and overall plan for the company, and ensuring the involvement of people with the right commercial experience to help transition the business out of the university and into the commercial arena. We supported Liverpool IP in finding investors and helping to reach agreement on structure and ownership.
LiftUpp is a great example of the innovative research coming out of the University, and achieving success in the fundraising underlines its commercial potential. We were able to provide both leadership and support in helping to bring this project to fruition. We’re proud to have been part of the process and look forward to collaborating on future spin-outs from the University.
